Glad to see you are not going for the dry cleaning side that would be a waist of money.

I can on speak from my on personnel experience with Ashby’s never had a problem with my machine and it worked very hard in the first 18mouths, though I don’t use it much for carpets now but I always use it on upholstery it has never let me down.

Sadly we can a buy a lemon and after sales can be poor, it depends on the circumstances, bull in a china shop get backs up.

Dont bother with the kleenrite hand tool, go for a cfr instead.
dont bother with the v2 steammate, you will not use it very often and its just an extra piece of kit to carry around. The 3kw heater element will do fine, just fill up and switch on heat before doing anything else on a job.(you can always buy the v2 later)
If the machine breaks down you will have to send it back at your own expence (£50 each way !), so you need to be able to fit spares yourself. otherwise find a local supplier. But its a good, powerful and very lightweight machine, I have had several over the years.

Re kleenrite go down Chris route cfr not a lot dearer but very good reports, I will admit forgot break downs within warranty return to base at your expense, lucky for me there only 9 miles away not that I have had to use them, but I have to say you are buying direct as with most bar one, you take it back to were you bought it not sure about there service though.

I have had a Ninja since 1999.

I have only had a couple of minor problems in nearly five years and have done my own repairs (I am not a mechanical genius).

Ashby's supply of spare parts is very prompt and their telephone  help courteous and helpful.

And if you buy spare parts from woodbridge commercials you can save a fortune.

Was scared to work on my Dimondback but got courrage and saved a fortune.

Plus local Washing Machine Vac repair man said he will help me out. If I can get parts he cant.
