has anyone used one? the makers claim it's so grippy, it can be used to stop a ladder sliding on ICE!

Got mine last week, love it.

basically it grips really well, so well that if the ladder did ever move  (THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY ) I do not think it would travel very far or very fast.

obviously fantastic on grass, but I use mine on everything including the concrete.

Got my mate top stand on it on his drive, I gave it a good kick and yes, it did move about 1 inch.  So it is not glue, it can move, it is just it does a very good job of not wanting to go anywhere.

Have you tried it on those damp, dark green, slimey, concrete slabs yet Karl?  My rubber safety mat thingy doesn't seem to cope with that stuff. I was resorting to dragging garden furniture behind the ladder today. what a time waster!

I know this isn't practical but 2 sand bags do the trick! Just lay them down fla & put your ladder on top. Won't budge a mm!

I do this at a house that has dark green slimey concrete slabs and it works a treat. I have permission to leave them at the customers house. Imagine taking them around everywhere with you. Some weight in them

hw could I emulate dark green moss?  If I covered a slab in fairy liquid and filmed it would that be a good idea?  Have not tried it yet but will if it saves someones life.

Do you think that would be a good enough test?  Suggest something else and I will get it done.

ive had my ladder m8 for nearly 12 months used it in all conditions including wet decking, frozen slabs, mossed concrete. NEVER MOVED YET (TOUCH WOOD)

I need to get one of these. But before I go rushing out I need to ask a few questions:

1) Will it fit in my rucksack...roughly 18"x14"
2) What's it like on uneven ground
3) The rule of thumb is for every 4 up the ladder should be 1 out. Is ladder m8rix safe for 4 up 3 out...in other words ladders angled at 30 degrees (ok I know this is extreme!).

check out midland ladders for size etc. You can get away at dodgy angels with the ladder m8 but i wouldnt recommend it. I sometimes do it to get above porch etc. It comes in a carry case i think youll struggle with a ruck sack mate.

I've had mine for a couple of months and its the dogs danglers. am so glad i have it in my van its never moved on any surface i have used it on,

highly recommend getting one,

i did cut my finger by picking it up and touching a spike so be careful with it! they are   very sharp

You could get someone like me in to pressure wash it off/clean for the customer.
I don't think the fariy liquid idea will work, as you won't be killing the moss my friend.

I've had a look on Midland Ladders. As Tatman says it won't fit in my rucksack but so what?...if it's as good as it's cracked up to be it's a must for us trad guys. I'm gonna get one.

Roger, I believe Karl meant to reproduce the conditions of moss, not kill it!  That'd be an ace test,  probably best to have something solid behind the ladder just in case though...
