« on: July 24, 2004, 02:23:21 pm »
Guys
I know their are a number of Wheelie Bin Cleaners on this site as I have had PM from a number of you. Lets get some chat going in general forum and share our knowledge.

I would like to start with how do you get new customers.
Do you have a minimum price
How do you collect payment

Cheers

Hi
I am not in wheelie bin cleaning but in my area they attach a little card on the elastic band to each wheelie bin on the street with the telephone number, price, name of the company, service details etc. for all interested clients to call. I guess that is one of many ways to get some new customers.

Thanks for the info we call it bin stripping we use an A4 sheet cut into four strips long ways and stapled to its self around the handle. works well as it is bin specific advertising. Presently doing about 800 per day and have been doing this for 3 weeks with another 3 weeks to go (summer break lots of low cost labour around)
I kid on roller blades can do this in about 4 -5 hours.

Hi George,

Pleased you've kicked off a discussion on wheelie bin cleaning.  As you know I've been doing this now for about 10 months but would like to know how any other people have got on.  Here are some issues that I would like to open up for discussion.

1.  Has anyone got any views on wheelie bin franchises out there - Has anyone had one and are there any great secrets they would like to share with us that we could benefit from.
2.  How many domestic bins can you really clean in an day.
3.  How many commercial.
4.  What prices do you charge.
5.  Is there anyway you can convince a retired person to have their bin cleaned?

Regards,
Nev.
bye from Nev @ MR W C

Good questions I will look forward to the replys.

As you know one of my lads is on hoilday so have been working on the bins for a few weeks.

On Tuesday I had 169 bins to clean actually cleaned 156
Today had 111 to clean and cleaned 109
The 109 was a piece of cake the 156 I could not do that every day so would not expect my lads to.

You can not persuade a Wrinkly to get their bin cleaned as they have nothing better to do etc etc.

However you can persuade a Coffin Dodger because they are more frail work on the angle of puting the bin back where it belongs etc.

Cheers
