Looks like an aluminium hozelock type reducing to a 6mm i.b. stem.

In fact looking at the title of the picture confirms this.

You need a hozelock connector, a short length of hose and a hoselock "stop" end.

Sorry no photo's, I'm a technophobe - but if you look at the van set up thread all those yellow plastic connectors are female hozelock. (Grey insert allows flow thru, red is an end stop.)

They are so common in Britain that you can get them at any diy/hardware store. The metal versions too.

www.cleantech.co.uk will supply them and the aluminium barb that you showed.

it fits into 6mm hose at one end (the thin end) and a standard hoselock fitting the other.
