TELEPHONE CANVASSING
«

Hi,
has anyone tried ringing around for work,? as an addition to door to door...
I have been thinking of ringing nursing homes, rest homes etc....as they appear to be scattered about and not as easy to deliver leaflets to..
or would you class this as commercial and provide a full portfolio in the usual way?..
and has anyone had any success with telephoning any other type of business at random?
i would just like to hear any thoughts on this before trying it.
Cheers.
Gary.

What you can do is ring them and ask them who you need to address stuff to, then ask them if it is possible to speak to them now ect.

I've rung companies to ask who I should address quotes too but I think it would be annoying to 'cold call' and try to speak to the person.
personally I hate it when i get phoned by double glazing companies etc and they try to sell me their products or services. I am more likely to take up their services if I recieve literature in the post.

Hi Gary, I don't do much in the way of commercial but I imagine that it's got in much the same way as you get domestic ie knock on doors.
The only way I can see the telephone method working is to write to them first then follow up with a phone call.
Good luck!

to be honest , i often read other posts ... other w/cs asking about commercial work and the responce is always the same.... not much!! lol....
either there aint many with real commercial work or because it can be lucrative and people hold cards firmly to the chest...
we will see.
