Having problems with my van mount system. When its all set up and im ready to go I switch it on and theres no presure at all! The water just trickles out of my brush. Ive been cleaning the trad way so I dont lose any money but want to get back on the pole. Is there a problem with my pump? how to I check it? Its doing my head in now.
 Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a air lock in your system, tighten all you connections that's the first step.

Dave, discounting all other possibilties that you may have tried...When I first got my system I found that I had low stream of water coming from the brush head in the end it turned out to be plastic debris within the plastic 'y' connector to the brush head...All I did was clear it with a small drill bit...

This is just a thought...

Disconnect the hose from the in side of your di and remove the connections to your pump.Then reattatch and make sure there is no movement at all on any of the connections even a small inlet of air will make you loose pressure

FAILING ALL THE ABOVE , you might want to tell us what pump psi your running , the length and bore of hose you have , and the type and size of jets your running too .
I only say this cos i have seen a w/c with a missold system of 60 psi flojet , 100 metres of 6mm microbore and a brush with 3mm pencil jets in it .
He had weak pressure at the brush head , i put my pole onto his system 2mm pencil jets and the pressure jumped by at least 50% , i then advised him to cut his hose length to 75 metres , all this he did and has no problems now .

Thanks chaps i'll try solve the problem this weekend im up to my neck in work at the mo and weekend will be my only chance. Dont think ive got a missold system tho rich as it was working fine untill last week. Can cold weather affect the system?

check your flow adjuster too if you use one!

i had this problem too, last year turned out i checked the hole system, and again, and again. Starting at my pump i worked my way through to the pole and found there was a problem with my flow adjuster!

Also when i first set up water was flowing slow, worked my way through system to find somehow i had a loose knot in my pipe at inside my pole, Stupid eh, must have been all the knots and tangles we get in when we start!

That reminds me of something as well.  If you have split charge relay and turn the engine before the glow plug light goes out(assuming diesel), it is possible to pop the blade fuse by the vehicle battery.  This stops the leisure battery recharging from the van battery.  Also, if the leisure battery drops too much charge, you can pop a fuse by the leisure battery so will need to recharge it as it's too much work for the fuse to do.  I haven't seen a wide variety of systems but that's how it can go on mine.  Of course, it might ber something completely different.


Just to give you a laugh, I had a water flow problem recently too.  No water was coming from the end of my pole.  I checked back looking for kinks, I made sure the flow controller and pump were switched on in the van - still no water.  Went back over it twice before I found the "problem".  The problem was me LOL.  I had forgotten to connect up the hosereel to the outlet on the van - oops !!  Glad no-one noticed.
