Here in the Brighton & Hove area there's an old by-law going back many years that allow window cleaners, chimney sweeps and i think sign writers to park on dubble yellow lines and not get a ticket when working, all the wardens no about it and leave us window cleaners alone. Is in the same where your from ?

I spoke to a warden in Worthing  3 weeks ago and yes although theres not a writen rule they are instructed not to book us, unless of cause your parked up somewhere for days on end. I do sometimes wonder why I still bother going into the car park when in Brighton though, Too honest I guess  :

Pete I used to have some in findon years ago up by the old windmill but I dont go up that way now.

I spoke to a traffic warden last year sometime and asked about parking whilst i was working.
They told me as long as i wasn't completely obstructing the road i would be ok to park up whilst i was working on yellow lines.
Plus the traffic wardens that work for the police haven't got a problem with it , but the ones that work for the council will book you.
I didn't realise there were two different working traffic wardens.
