Yes it turns green.

If you leave it on overnight and the light is  still red. Check the terminal connections on the battery and tighten them up.

Same as Gary - no light on my charger - I charge it overnight and hope for the best. OK so far, but battery loses it's charge if unused for a few days.

My charger as a Neon light on Red for charging or Fault and green for charged.

I just charge it up once a week.

Changed my charger to one of these:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=33070&criteria=SEALED%20LEAD-ACID%20&doy=13m1
The one that came with it packed up.  And I bought a Multitester:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=37279&doy=13m1

My charger is actualy a 2 - 24v and has 4 green led's and 1 red led.  When you connect it to the battery it automaticaly displays the correct voltage led (green light) and the red light shows to show charging.  When fully charged the red led goes out.  Now if you leave the battery on as long as you like, the charger will trickle charge it and keep it topped up.  I have 3 batteries. 1 in the BP and 2 spare kept on charge (share the charger)

Correct red for charging, green for charged.
The charger is probably the newer version, if some guy's don't have the led's on them.
Mine takes 1-2 hrs to charge depending on the use I give it.
