Was he a Cowboy?
« on: January 10, 2007, 07:51:31 pm »
This morning on my way to work, I seen what I Presumed to be a window cleaner, he had a bed sheet on top of his car and ladders tied on with rope, no roof rack, a small bucket hanging off the back with his scrim flapping in the wind,
I could see the ladders were unstable and twisted across the car.

Is this a  cowboy out to make a quick  buck? I'm sure he's not a professional with a set up like that ::) First time I have seen such a bad set up, anyone seen anything like this before?

Jeff ive got one around here with a 12' single ladder, 6' A frame ladder, bucket, cloths and all tied on with thin rope to his push bike.
Hes been going for years so hes not a cowboy as such but hes only got a very small round.

Was it a Cortina with Eddie Yates driving and Stan Ogden in the passenger seat eating a bag of chips?

I see them quite often round our way. Never usually on a wednesday though, they must have changed their signing on day.

I've ordered stuff for my trailer by the way get it Monday.

Baz I understand what your saying, but if your guy's ladders come off the chances are he'll just go A over T, and graze his elbows, if this guy's ladders came off at 30 mph and go through someones screen and kill the occupants, is that a pro at work.
If it wasn't for the rope going through his windows and stopping his ladders spinning, I would have sworn it was a helicopter.

There's a guy round my way who has one roof bar at the front of his car a little mazda sports car and the rear of the ladder he ties to his spoiler on his boot.

Why on earth he does not get another roof bar beats me.

Perhaps he's a Yorkshire man?

I thought roof bars were only sold in pairs.
