Cutting poles
« on: January 09, 2007, 10:44:55 pm »
Does anyone know if you can cut fiberglass or carbon fiber sections?

What is the result of doing so?  Do they splinter or shatter?

What is best to cut them with?

Yes you can cut them, if you are going to di it its best to use an angle grinder (faster cutting speed will help prevent splitting) and tape up the pole with duck tape next to where you are cutting to hold the fibres together.
