good idea for varistream
« on: January 07, 2007, 10:50:35 am »
some time back some of you guys were saying that your varistream switches are sticking buy all the work they have to go through
how about putting a cheap inline switch between the pump and the batt so you just switch off the pump off buy the new switch and not your very costly varistream as you dont have to change the flow rate that often   just an idea
plus i have got some small packs of silicon gell the stuff you get in you new electronic box eg camera, sat nav, tv and put it in the back part of the varistream case so to stop any moisture getting in the varistream  what do you think

Hi Stu
Good idea, varistream have the MK2.5 version out now, and its something to do with the switch.

I also read a post on here last week (I think) and someone said it was a small dab of silicon or glue that causes the problem, once this is cleaned it works as normal again.

The silicon gell idea for varistreams protection of the PCB,
I think its a good idea, it helps keep the damp from the Boards, so I would highly recommend them.  Good Post.

Your right Russ, when I ordered mine I was told I was lucky to get one, Try Andrew MaCann, he may still have some in stock, but not 100% sure.
