650L upright positioning in a van?
«
on:

Hi there,
Just bought a 650L upright tank to fit in my ford transit but I’m unsure on which way to place it? I need to have it at the bulkhead but don’t know weather to place it across the width or down the middle.
Anyone have any ideas or comments?
Many thanks,
Matthew

Looks like a good strong bulkhead, so either way it will hold.
It will be easier to strap it in if it is acrossways.

Not finished the bulkhead yet. Still another metal bar to go across then sheet on top of that with ply. What would be best for stability?

If you don't need the space longways is spreading the load better over the chassis. I wouldn't worry too much about this coming through the bulkhead. You have a good lip on the cab floor and any impact which is going to launch it, well frankly you would be lucky to survive anyway tank or no tank.

I have come to a decission that I will put it across the width of the van.
My next problem is where do I put my poles?
Where do you guys keep them?

but how on earth do you secure the pole in there?
I used to use a pipe on the roof and just left the brush sticking out the end and traped the hose in the back door but my new pole has the hose running up the inside of the pole!

i never had any probs keeping pole in pipe though i do use powerpoles which are fairly heavy. I have used old carpet inside pole carrier i use that at the mo as pole kept rattling inside pipe carrier

Please explain yourself.
Do you leave the brush head sticking out the end of the pole or do you unscrew the brush head and place inside the van?
Do you have a cap end on the pipe so you can close it over to stop the pole sliding back out?
Cheers

hi when its in carrier its just the pole itself though if you wanted, if you cut an notch out of bottom of the end of the soil pipe to fit the end of pole with brush on if you know what i mean you can get end caps for soil pipes I do have an end cap which stops it sliding out when i'm driving

Thanks,
But what do you do with all the hose?
Do you just stuff it in the end?
