One of my customers asked me to quote to clean several carpets last summer.

I told her how much it would be, she said she wanted it done cheaper. I told her that I couldn't drop any lower as my prices are already very reasonable.

Three weeks later they phoned to book me.

Apparently during the three weeks they had called my local competitor who really is very cheap. He turned up with nothing but a domestic steam cleaner, the type you see on the shopping chanels for cleaning tile grouting and ovens.

That really is taking the p**s.
