Anybody come across this?

Got a call from a customer whom I had cleaned a rug for last year for some advice.
I went to the house to find that they had just had new carpets fitted to 3 rooms.
The one in question was a white Berber 80% wool 10% hair 10% nylon. They had vacced it with their dyson after the guys had fitted it to clear the carpet of fluff. As he was vaccing it a blue ink stain about the size of a 5 pence piece appeared. They checked the vacc brush but could not find anything there so are stumped to how it has happened.
I inspected the carpet and the ink spot looked like a blod of ink had been dropped on the carpet but they assured me that was not the case. The carpet was only half vacced and the dyson was on its back so it looked like thy stopped as soon as they saw the blue stain.
They are genuine people and quite wealthy so I know they are not trying it on .
I examined the carpet and could find the usual yellow, reds, brown flecks that you get ith the Berber style yarn. But on closer examination of the room I found inbetween some of the fibres build up of what looked like small blobs of dried blue dye residue.
My only answer ws that there must of been a blob of blue dye in the looped pile that was still wet in the middle and when dislodged with the motorised brush of the dyson it has opened it up and caused it to spread.
Any body heared of this before of throw any light on it.
I have told them go get the fitters back out to eximine it as its brand new.

How blue?
Could it be loom oil? that's not quite black??
Also they could have written on the backing the name of the customer, I've seen that happen numerous times, Ok you may say why didn't the full name show BUT it could be where they had rested the nib just before they were going to start writing on just ended.
May need to lift carpet.
One for the carpet retailer, if you try it it's your problem if it spreads or goes away and then returns.

Hi Shaun
Hope you have had a good break.
I checked the back and no signs there, also it is a heavily bonded back which would be very difficult for ink to penetrate.
It it definatley ink and not oil, looks like indigo but will need to be tested.
No I would not attempt removal at this stage and told custy to contact supplier/fitter.Also the fitting was not great as it had poor joining and a number of areas were the berber loop had been severly pulled with the knee kicker.Sound like the fitters rushed the job as it was near the back end of the day.
Ink is a total mystery

Check the carpet fitters invoice to see if it's filled out in blue ink?
