Looking at this thread from a woodcare approach, I do a lot of outdoor decking.
Has the floor got a sealer/finish?, if it has then do not use anything caustic, as you will start to strip the finish off and would then need to strip the whole of the floor/surface. Do not use too hot a water either, (wood hates hot water) try to use cool water, but as a post earlier said, not loads of it you are working indoors so you would need to let the wood completey dry out before putting any finish/sealer back on. I would allow at least 48 hours for it to dry out.
