Shame on you East Kent
« on: December 18, 2006, 09:37:55 pm »
I recently asked my local Prochem supplier to provide me with either Liquid Woolsafe or Fibresafe Gold. His reply was that he can only provide me with a case of 4 and he would not sell me this product individually. When I enquired why this was the case he told me that no other carpet cleaners in the area use woolsafe detergents. They just use the same high PH solutions regardless of whether they are cleaning polyprop, wool or nylon.

Ok so can you guys tell me, do you use woolsafe approved products on wool and nylon carpets or do you also only use one detergent in your tank regardless of what fibres you are cleaning????

Always use the approriate cleaning agent, never use a high PH on wool, I use a lot of microsplitters which are very user friendly.

How can he justify selling in qty's of 4 cartons, what's it got to do with regards who is using what chemical anyway. ???

My local Prochem dealer will sell me any qty I want, if he insisted everyone bought 4 cartons nobody would buy from them.

Our local distributor will sell in single qtys, you may pay an extra couple of quid but its certainly helps when you just need 1 bottle for a certain job.

Generally, distributors will buy 4x 5 litre containers in a single carton.

If he has a customer wanting only one, that leaves him with 3 that he may not be able to sell.

Then it is his job to sell it. Not all carpet cleaners have recieved training, indeed I would probably say the majority. In that case it is the person selling the products who should be pro-active in guiding people on what products to use.
This is what I do and a lot of my customers have benefited from that advice, especially so when it comes to pricing.

Steve
I just use, "fibre and fabric  rinse" in the machine....never had any problems...sounds like youre getting the stuff delivered to you, and thats why theyre pushing more than one at a time. Give prochem a ring, and they will give you a list of all your nearest stockists, and you can then buy the quantity you want. I had this problem once, and got fed up with it too..was worth the 20 mile drive to collect from a new supplier in the end.
