hi anyone know how much power a 400psi pumptec motor draws ?

I've looked into this a little while ago. Can't find my notes for the moment but Im certain it's 150 watts. It doesn't need much juice because it's an induction motor. What you trying to do?

I don't think thats right, a 400psi pump requires more than 150watts. It will have about a 1.5hp motor, so I think it will require 1500w supply.

Nope. Ashby's use a high wattage vac motor, a standard vac motor, 400psi pump and powerbrush socket all off of one 13 amp plug without tripping any fuses. Of the top of my head the vac motors are pushing 2800 watts. Theres a maximum of 3120 watts available in perfect conditions. So at best the pump draws a couple of hundred watts tops.

hi , the reason i ask is i need to run the pump from a jeny for some work i am doing which is not carpet cleaning, and northern tools sell some dirt cheap ones which are 600 watts, id be surprised if it needs 1500 watts as this means the vacs only need about 750watts each

watts = amps x volts.

if you know the amp, or watt  rating you can work it out. Volts is 240.

My years at college were not wasted 8)

If you were considering something powerful enough to run the pump + vacs - beware. The initial surge of the vac motors tends to trip mine. It's rated at 2.8Kw.

It will depend on which motor you are talking about
But If it is the Fasco induction motor give me a call on 01293 561 777 I have them on the shelve and I can give you the ampage
