Yes Gary, when you said you had that set up it did seem a cheaper option with the advantage of a backup machine.
Although I thought my vacs where on way out recently but noticed over the weekend the waste tap had been knocked and the silicon seal around the base was sucking in air. I redone it and the difference is NOTICABLE!
I'd just have to buy a double connection lid I presume.

u dont hav to hav the lid u just hookup to one exshaust pipe
