How much will a WFP cost
« on: December 06, 2006, 06:10:52 pm »
Hi Guys.

How much can I look to spend on a wfp system for a kangoo van?

I know it might be a case of how long is a piece of string but I just wanna get an idea of how big my savings need to be?

     Thanks again.

Go to Gardiners website & you will see that for around a grand you can be up & running.

The only thing you will need to buy then is a leisure battery, an IBC tank (which is cheaper to source locally) & something to secure your tank in the van. Add another £100 -£120 for these extras.

Alternatively you could go to one of the larger national suppliers & get right royally ripped off. Erm, tough one that!!!!!!!

watch it, you will get accused of being bitter with a statement like that, your right though :) buy all the bits and build it yourself, you will save thousands of quid

you need :

a tank (and fixings)
a pump
a RO system
a pole
a brush
a leisure battery

a few pipe fittings and some hose

i think thats about it

trolley system ready made barells ro/di pole with brush about a grand bit less from some suppliers, van system inc all the bits a little bit more. be aware how much weight can be carried in your van... one litre = one kilo so 300 ltrs = 300 kilo.
if your van will take say 500 kilo this includes all the kit tank water pole etc and you any passengers etc. check insurance co make sure they are happy you are carrying lots of water, some are not happy!
going the diy route will save you quite alot of beer tokens.. horses for courses really are you the type who wants to drive in to a supplier and drive out with it all fitted tested gauranteed and shown how to use?
going the diy route can be sort of fun but you will know alot more about the system but it will take you some time to get it right. would you consider waterproofing the floor incase of a spillage? lots of things to consider... will you keep trad kit in there as well ladder on top of van maybe? all adds to weight.
you can cut costs a bit and buy some bits off this site from other window cleaners or ebay but ask the good people from this site before you buy!!
good luck with your quest it will take a bit of time to sort out but keep commiing back here and ask more questions.
i would say start with a budget maybe a grand and see what you can get for your money.   ;)

AND

Just for the record, since alex G said about it, its now secured with 5 tonne straps to anchor points in the rear

also not done by me BUT i told him about what alex said

No problem, Just added a 250ltr tank to the order and its now £833.87. I also omitted to add the 10'' DI vessel to the first list !
