Thingummyjig tool?
« on: November 28, 2006, 10:39:20 pm »
Anyone know where to get one of those tools for squeezing down the '0' ring type clips onto hose to make them leakproof?

Kind of like pliers but a proper tool for the job.  I just don't know where to get them.

No seriously, I got something in B & Q a while back.  Can't think what they call it though and I don't have the wrapper any more.  It is made by Stanley though so is probably of good quality. If your local branch stock it I'm sure you'll recognise what you need.
It's saved me a fortune on dental bills  ;D

Is it a crimping tool? Why get that when pliers work fine?

Agread but if they can still provide a reasonably leak proof seal are they not adequate?

but thats the problem,   a lot of the time they don't seal up, especially if it is on the inlet side of the pump where it can let air in

Good point yes they would be more likely to suck air more than they would leak. :-X

If you've got any tile nippers from your last tiling job, they're excellent for crimping O rings.
