Changing over to the Dark Side!
« on: November 24, 2006, 06:50:09 pm »
My Boss (wife) asked me what I wanted for christmas today, so I said I would like santa to bring me a complete wfp system, she said well you better start looking and getting all the advice you can about what to buy, because thats what santa is bringing you (Whoopeeee!)  ;D ;D

So I am now in the market for a WFP System to go in my Trailer, and RO for home use.

So come on Guy's I need all the advice I can get and good prices from the suppliers.

Thanks for the link I have already seen your pictures when you posted them, have you any idea of the height of your tanks? The reason for this question, in recent veiw of my car trouble last week I must now for security reasons add a closed top to my trailer it will be on hinges to enable me to get inside the trailed, If the tanks are to high then I might have to go for the flat tank.

you've already got great advise from these guys, not much to add just do some research, don't rush into it (if you do you will probably end up buying some wrong kit), and build your own system. it's all simple stuff once you know what you have to acheive (no wfp system is rocket science no matter what it looks like or how much it costs).

good luck ;)

Hi Jeff, the tanks are 620mm high, although I think the cap adds another 30mm. I was going to have a flat tank too, but all the flat tanks I found were over 1000mm wide which was wider than the trailer I had, in fact wider than most small trailers, thats why i went for two upright 175L's instead of a 400L flat.

Thanks Tim

I needed the sizes for building the frame work to the Tank, I am going to build a steel frame for it, got all the metal got my own welder, Just needed the sizes,

my trailer is 5'x4 with brakes and I know it doesn't bounce around when empty.

How do you find the handling of it when your tanks are full?
do you empty them equally? to give good balance?

Cheers

Jeff

If you check out online, you can find out the exact sizes of the tanks, just in case there are differences in different suppliers.

My trailer handles fine while full, the car's just a bit more sluggish, but then wouldn't any car when pulling half a ton more than usual. The two tanks are linked by a Y hoselock adapter, the adapter has valves to isolate each tank if I need to, but as yet I havent needed to do that yet. The 2 tanks thus empty at the same time, keeping balanced.

It also handles well when empty, only a very little bouncy.
