Been thinking a while now about ditching the Ninja for pre vac.

It's cumbersome to operate

Uses your water that you are trying to heat up

vac powered beater crap

And this afternoon the clear vac hose split after only 4 months use!

However, would I get the same suck from any upright?

I've got a ninja vac kit and I find it far better than my sebo bs36,it does use a bit of water but I use the steam mate when I've finished with the vac so dont have the heating problems, Andy

The clear hose on my Ninja split recently and was about the same age. If you have a grey exhaust hose for your Ninja a small section will replace the clear hose and seems to be stronger.

PS In case you dont know it screws on anti-clockwise.

The term 'fit for purpose' springs to mind

I may be able to cut it down and re attach. Patched with duck tape at mo. Really need clear so I can see water flow. Trying to source some that doesn't come in 40m lengths.

Thought the problem was due to my misuse or got some sort of solvent on the hose. But your fit for purpose comment makes me think that I should take it up with the supplier.

Just to clarify. I unscrewed all the hose cuffs and put half of the clear section which was in front of the water inlet valve (doesnt seem to split) behind the water valve, and kept half as spare.
I then replaced front section with a piece of grey pipe as you dont need to see through this part.

Finished off by using a flexible clear silcone to seal the screw fittings into the cuffs.

Ah very good info for sorting. Rightly or wrongly I haven't bothered with Ashbys I just feel they wouldn't respond to any suggestion of sorting it cost free. Can't think why.
