Hi Simon, No matter what time of week or day you knock you will always find people a little rude. I tend to target bigger houses, i only have a couple of small semis on my books, most of my customers are professional people, Doctors, Directors ect. When i knock on a Sunday i tend to go out around 3ish till about 7-8, finish times depend on how well i have done. I went out yesterday and got 215 worth of work, every 4 weeks, got all that by 5.45 but carried on till 7. I had 2 phone calls today saying they got my slip, one wanting windows cleaned and the other a one off conservatory clean along with fascia and gutter clean, got to pop out to see them on wed. I find that if you knock in person, tell them that it will be you that will clean they prefer that, build up a little repor with them. A few of the houses i have knocked have used, in the past, bigger cleaning firms, but didnt like them as they would get different cleaners every month, so i find knocking in person is the best way, and never worry about going out on a Sunday to knock as this is by far the best day to get business, well in my opinion!!!
