pure water sysems for essex area
« on: November 13, 2006, 06:20:59 pm »
Hi,

Can anybody help me please...I have been racking my brain for a couple of weeks with regards to buying an r/o /di system for either my van or static use.

I am fed up of looking now and have seen so many ! I would be happy to have one fitted in the van but a ? is bugging me...as the water is so hard in the essex area will I need a water softener too amd if so what type ?

I don't have a massive budget about £1500 to play with...can anybody recomend a system static or mobile that will supply around 700 litres of pure water per day.

I already have a 400 litre tank in my van and this is hooked up to a pump system.Currenlty I buy my water to complete all my work

Cheers for your time

Warren

hi warren

we supply quite a few van mounts over to essex and further a field

take a look at the static sheet we supply on satic systems  as many have used this as a van mount system, it will produce about 3-4 lit a minute

Hi Warren,

I have a 400l tank in my van, and a 300gpd RO-man unit in my shed, which runs all day filling my 1000l IBC.  I transfer the pure water to my van via a Draper submersible pump.  (Only need a quick burst of pump as I've set the IBC up on a plinth so the water runs by syphon).

The RO-man unit cost about £300, with renewable prefilters at about £40-50 every six months.  My tap water is about 280-300 ppm.

I've had the unit for about twenty months and it still produces water at 2-4 ppm.  I then run it through an 18inch DI vessel.  I've only had to change the resin in the vessel once in all the time I've had the RO.

The RO came with a pump, and  I used the pump until a few weeks ago, then it broke.  Now I just let the system work on the mains water pressure (about 35-40psi) and it works fine.

Cheers

Ian
