Hi

been practising on my house with wfp and pure water,

it leaves my windows dirty , like its been pouring with rain......

i swapped all the water over in my backpack to ordinary tap water... to see the difference....


first washed with tap water, then two hours later pure water...

exactly the same.

filthy.

any ideas lads, as i cannot go near a customers house until i have sorted this....

plenty of attempts and always the same,
 .. dirty windows..

i might add that i was led to believe it would run down the windows in a sheen like fashion,

it doesnt... and it dries the same as ordinary water, with lots of speckles of water all over the glass, drying where it is  and staining.... much the same as if i had turned the hosepipe on it.

the pure water reads 000.

for windows that have not had pure water on them before.....

scrub rinse scrub rinse do it 3 times or more...

No not all windows sheet 30% of my jobs dont sheet.

just keep rinsing left to right top to bottom, then when you have done all these leave and come back to check on them...

you will get better

Gazza I agree with that.
Cant over emphasise the importance of rinsing.
As for the text message I dont know where you can get the blue tubing but someone on here will.
Mine came with the poles and trolley which I got from Cleantech so it may be worth giving them a call.
I had the same problem with the Ionics pole,it came with black tubing and my 60 psi pump wasnt strong enough to push the water through.Fortunately I had some of that blue tubing left and swapped it over then it worked fine.
Stick at it mate and keep rinsing.
By the way do you know anyone round our area with a triple ladder I could borrow for a day.We have 3 gutter cleans and my double just wont reach.

Firstly check your water out of your brush head is 000

make sure you are cleaning the frames as well and try not to get water on the bricks/wall above window as this will contaminate the water
rince from top to bottom + side to side and brush again and rince again

Good for newbies to WFP if you do it like that there is no way you can get spots unless the water is not right.

I like that auto brush shame i can't use them on my powerpole.

I've just watched this link.  Mattie is doing much, much more than is required for such a simple pane of glass.

It would've been quicker to soap and squeegie it from an A-Frame ladder.

If it was a regular WFP maintenance clean, he could just wash the once and rinse the once and I bet it would look just the same.

Anyway, I think Gazza's problem is the soap residue left behind from trad cleans.  

Yesturday, I converted fifteen tiny council houses over to WFP for the first time.  I had usually used ladders, since these houses only have two upstairs windows (one front and one back), so I used ladders.

Anyway, despite using my WFP for over 14 months, I still found runs and spots on two windows I checked, and I was really carefull too; though most were fine.

I know I won't have the same problem next month, since the soap will be gone.

Had the same problem as i run Tucker, i think it was Gaza who said about a numatic trigger on the pole, it works fantastic.

i went out with it today did 5 houses anyway..

i washed frames , rinsed them.. then glass.... lots of times so fingers crossed

.... i want a vikan brush and a gooseneck which petski so kindly borrowed, cheers for that bud.

also with the backpack my trigger was on the floor all the time as when connected to the hose ,... the connection is next to the trigger at the end of the black pipe from the backpack... so i need to do some engineering work ... oh its all good fun tho,  :

Just watched that link.
I'm sure the guy has learned a lot since doing it.
The only good thing was the flow of water!
He started in the middle of the window and after washing the window proceeded to wash the top frame!  He should have done that first, then the side frames, then the glass, then rinse.
I'm not fast and I don't try to be, but I can easily do about 8 similar windows in that time

Give the frames a good scrubbing with pure water (especially above the frames) along with the glass.  Use LOTS of water.  Go around later with pure water.  Use LOADS of the stuff.  If it isn't any better, try rinsing with the brush OFF the glass.  It will come right.  Some windows just need more cleans than others before they come up well.
Don't skimp with the water though.  Use plenty of it for the first few cleans even though the quantity will seem ridiculous.

That link was useful but it didn't make it clear that it's a good idea to wait a while for water to run down from the top of the frame and then follow up with a glass only clean.
In reality you don't wait, You just go around having scrubbed all the framework and glass all over on every window and by the time that's done, it's usually ready to take the second pass.
I virtually do the job twice on first cleans but only usually charge 50% more.

A question for you Gazza.  Do you have windows with vents above the frames as these can cause problems with water running down from the vents for ages afterwards.

thats way too slow for an initial clean - I can honestly say I can do 3 similar windows (initial clean) in that amount of time
