What Gloves Are The Best

Just trying to work out what are the best glove to use for both WFP and traditional window cleaning.

I have used Unger Neoprene but they don't last long and seem to make my hands ache.

I was thinking about the omnipole gloves but i don't think they will be any good for traditional.

So what gloves do you chaps wear in winter

Last year i was using Sealskin and thought they were great. BUT the only downside i found about them were they aren't hardwearing enough.
I went through 4 pairs last winter and at £25 a pair it was a bit expensive.
I even contacted Sealskin about them as i think it even states they are ideal for window cleaning but didn't get any joy over it.

I am trying IRWIN Extreme gloves this winter. I got them local for £15.

I have used them once already since i bought them and they kept my hands warm and quite dry.

When it gets really cold i will find out better though.

Thanks for that craig.

I was thinking of getting the sealskin gloves but now you said there not hard wearing is making me think about looking for something else.

I'm sure there was a post like this last year and quite a few people prefered the Unger Gloves.

Never used them myself so can't comment.

I used unger last year and i found them to be crap for wfp , they made my hands ache too , they wore out real quick with me turning the tap on the hose on and off all the time .

If you stopped messing about with the tap you might get some work done.

And as for you wearing them out it's probably the coffee cup that's glued to your hand that wears them out.

To be honest though i would be interested in what people find to be better.

Well so far the unger are winning so i guess other people have not tried other gloves out.
And know one is putting down why they have chosen the gloves they use.

For WFP it is the Omnipole gloves for me, fur lined and very hard wearing.
You can use them trad, but most will find them to bulky and clumsy.
The sealskinz look good for trad work, in the past I've used the Unger Neoprene ones, I found them fine and could just about get through the winter with one pair.

They are next to useless for WFP though, or the are if you have the poles with twist grips, they soon shred.

We use waterproof fishing gloves.
They are not very bulky but seem very hard wearing and very warm

I used a pair of shower proof lined cycling gloves last winter, cost £25. Not in the least waterproof and wore out.
Neoprene make your hands smell like rotten cheese and you can't get rid of the smell!
I am about to call windowcleaningwarehouse to talk about sealskinz gloves for this winter. Are they lined? Does anyone else use them? Any good?

After reading a reply last year, I bought some Aldi cycling gloves, they have proved to be v good and only cost £1.99 a pair. Very warm and good to use.

Well that has cheered me up i've just bought some Unger neoprene gloves, and i'm wfp, so not only are they not going to last but i'm gunna smell like cheese! I only opted for those as they were mentioned on here. Last year used animal gloves, but knackered (split) after one winter.

I changed from unger phew!! to omnigloves and have never looked back, or had wet or cold hands since wfp olny though!
