Hello all,
I have a Nissan Vannete 2.3, and I want to put some racking in thier to shelve my cleaning chemicals and some tools etc,
obviously I want to spend the least amount of money as possible and also maybe put it together myself .Do any of you guys have any ideas on this?

if you are going to use the shelves day in day out i would recomend you spend a good few quid on a sturdy set of shelves.

or you could buy some hardboard sheets & slate battens.

find a plyliner some couch builders do this, they can custom make shelfs, ive seen some done to an extremly high standard.

I have heard that reply so many times on here! would'nt anybody in their right mind want to spend the minimum? or are you one of those guys who believes anything with a high price = high quality Not allways the case.

There's lots of van racking available on ebay.

As suggested above i'd ply-line the van before installing the racking.

if there is a van dismantiler near you go there
and if they have the same van same shelving
they do have loads of shelving steel and timber
yes i can understand not wanting to spend a lot of money
on shelves theres better things to spend money on iam sure

our just ring them save time & money on diesel

Iv just done mine and im very happy with them and they cost me peanuts iv got 9 shelves wich hold a total of 36, 5 litre bottles or obviously a smaller ammount of bottles and your tools etc.

They are strong, sturdy, and waterproof, hold 4 bottles per shelf, and the total cost was around £60.

They are window boxes, like you plant flowers in, i got them from Homebase for £4.99 each, a few bits of wood and some screws and a mornings work and your done

If you are going to rack your van out, line it and insulate it.
Frosty weather coming up do not let things freeze in the van it can be death to tool valves and solution pumps.

Actually is a good idea, I spent £200 with woodbridge to do it, metal racking which is good,  just too lazy to do it myself :

Bit of wood 2" x 1" top and bottom for support, some screws and washers and thats it, it was very easy if i can do it anyone can

if you ve insulated Red, you should do the roof too.

Cheers Craig, i was thinking that, i did do it but its still bloody cold in there.

im going do mine today, its like they say a house loses most heat through its roof, im going to use loft insulation then ply, the loft insulation will go covenently in the cavities,  ply screwed to the strenghting struts. i'll use thin ply so it bends with the roof.

Dave (lionhona) has done his sides, roof and doors, and he dont even need a heater!

he said it always stays a couple degrees above the outside temp.
