They might well ask you to pay for the vets bills for an operation to get the clip out the dog ;D

Tell them that you want the clip back and 50% of the clean price as a claim for emotional distress ;D

I've never come across this problem before. Maybe if you try to charge them she might make up some story that her dog is ill make you pay. In my eyes it's not worth it for the sake of £3/£4 is it really.

No. I am surprised you needed to ask.

you could put some neat fairy on the end of your applicator and put that through. Might make the dog think twice in future.

Heard a funny story from a postie once...

He used to carry a welders gauntlet in his bag. When he got a problem dog, he would put the glove on and go through the gate. He would put his gloved ahnd in the dogs mouth and grab its tongue!  :o

He wouldn't pull the dogs tongue, just holds it. Dog freezes. Won't move. He would then pet the dog and speak to it. All the while, holding it's tongue. Then he would let go and put the glove back in his bag. No trouble from the dog. Next time he goes back... ... no trouble from the dog. It wags it's tail and greets him quietly.

Never tried it myself but...  8)

Thought about doing it to a few customers tho  ;D

I used to clean a house with a dog like this, It was an alsation x labrador.
It used to scare the crap out of me.

When i used to clean the patio door it used to run and pounce at the door i was always worried it was going to come through.

I used to put the bill in through the letter box with a squeegie also.

I used to hate doing that job so dumped it after 6 months.

I was bitten three times by a customers Jack russel, I warned the customer every time, and she thought it was funny  >:(
Turned up at her house next time ready for this little s*** out it belted from her house, barking and showing me his teeth,so I jammed my ladders down at an angle and pinned the little yelping darling to the floor ;D
The customer came running out and shouted what are you doing to my little dog, I just laughed at her and said how the hell ( a little stronger choice of words though) do you to like it  ;D walked away and dumped her.

only been attacked once by a dog - she was a friend of a friend - nah just kidding, a customer of mine breeds and trains the police attack dogs, one grabbed my arm while poling, the other arm gave it a nice smacker on the nose, pole fell against my car although no prob after that.

In situations like this, although I haven't had many, I stick the ticket to the outside of the door. If the owner complains or asks why I just explain it.

All jokes aside, you have to be careful, if you deliberately hurt the owners dog by pushing sharp objects through letterboxes you will be held liable and up for prosecution, I only found this out talking to a friend of mine who is a postman. A guy actually lost his job over it, wrong as it may be?

JM123...I train dogs to Dutch Police standards (KNPV) and if one of my dogs mouthed anyone without being told or provoked...it would have to be SERIOUSLY  re-evaluated and poss put down. Not a good thing to happen.

But then again UK police dogs and their training is known to be pants..they only buy the cheapest dogs and the training periods are not that long, whilst the testing criteria is watered down beyond belief....I have a training friend in UK who came 3rd with a dog in a Police competition(she's a civvy) and the dog only had very little training.....

Its all down to money thats why the best dogs are in private hands. ;D

Cheers
Dave.

the dog was put down, but only after it bit the customers daughter - so he shot it himself. I know very little else about police dogs in general but I do know there are some seriously dodgy characters breeding and training them.

If you are bitten by a dog report it to the police. The owner will have to make sure the dog is kept on a muzzle whenever out in public. If 3 people report to the police that they have been bitten by the same dog then the owners have no choice but to have their dog put down.
The moral of the story is: if there is a dog on your window cleaning round you despise immensely, report it to the police and then ask 2 of your friends to do the same!!

Some dogs just need to get that little nip in 1st before they will accept you in their territory.
Once they get close enough to give you a good sniff they are usually fine.
I always tell my customers to let their dogs out when i'm there.
I think it makes them worse when they bark and their owners make an issue of it and try to keep them away.
I've been bitten hard once and got nipped another time. They were both jack russells.
Good as gold with me now.
