I was caught in a downpour yesterday and got absolutely drenched...plodded on and did a few more houses feeling more and more cold and miserable by the minute. Now indoors drinking Lemsip Cold and Flu by the gallon and hoping to salvage the rest of the week.

Never working in the rain again!

An old army phrase I recall....anyone can be uncomfortable...

I worked in the rain yesterday....wetproofs, sealskinz-gloves, gortex boots, hat...no problems, got home, nice warm shower and ready for the telly, cash on the table.

It is just a fact that we have bad weather so we just have to be able to adapt to it.

Cheers
Dave.

I've thought about getting some waterproofs. But don't you think that working in the rain the customer must think "Blimey he must need the dough badly to work in this weather."

Worked most of the day £144, waterproofs, rigger boots, sealskinz. (WFP)
Even my mate did £124 Trad

Squeaky,

I'm glad you can live off nothing, I used to spend my weeks doing the odd day not concerned for the future. However i have learnt the hard way that life can bite you on the bum.

Work hard when you can, you don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Fair play to you Bear.

The problem I'd have if I wanted to work in it, is that a lot of my customers are ones Ian Giles had before me for 10 years, and he never worked in the rain.

So that's 15-20 years for some of them only done in the dry weather.

I've tried wet days before and about 90% them told me to bugger off.
Then when you turn up next time they're not the cheery people they were before because I've not cleaned them for 2 months and they think I don't give a toss.

It would mean a lot of confusing days, worrying about who hasn't been done for months.

Do see what I mean? :-\
