Squeegee Off VS Fairy Liquid
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:10:05 pm »
Which do you prefer squeegee off or fairy liquid? Does it really matter? By the way how many put  vinegar in their solution?

I use squeegie off and think its great.

Used to use fairy when i was traditional only and still would if i was just traditional.
But apparently it leaves a film on the glass.

Some windows i do traditional downstairs some months if im low on water and the following month i may WFP it.

So to avoid any problems i changed to squeegie off as its designed for window cleaning.

Use squeegee off, it's amazing.
Fairy is for washing plates and dishes :)
Seriously, junk fairy it's rubbish.

Unger Liquid, 2cap fulls half bucket of pure ;) gives nice slip and no suds, why put all that white soap crap all over the windows more mopping, ruins the scrims and makes a mess.

I admit suds do look better to the customer watching from behind the window, but what do they know!!

You can't work as fast without suds because you need to look more carefully where you're going to make sure you don't miss any.

With plenty of suds I barely focus on the glass at all, just a quick glance here and there, and nothing gets missed.

;D bear in mind Squeaky that my eye sight is alot better than yours, being in my prime an all. Plus all that faffing about you do in the dark room with your cameras doesn't do yours any good. :D

Used to use Fairy or Tesco own brand washing up liquid for a while. Now i prefer to use Unger Professional Window Cleaning Fluid. It's not cheap though and i do use quite a bit as i like some sudds on the windows for the same reasons as Squeeky.

being wfp im playing around with 1. fairy/ vinegar and pure water versus 2. fairy/ vinegar and tap water.

In summer 1. wins easily but now the cold weather will b coming i think ill switch to 2. but using hot tap water. Using 1. less detail and cleans very well.
Used squeegy off before but my brother and me both reckon my own custom fairy/ vinegar mix is best

yeah whatever!!!!

MY EXPLANATION...........
I actually find it easier to add more vinegar to my fairy in summer, which gives that added sparkle, being acid seems to break down the fly deposits, spider web ends etc. etc.
Also using pure water seems just to clean it better

Been using wfp since end of feb and been toying around with things as you do

Many of my customers ask why my windows sparkle more than their OLD w/c

Maybe thats why
