I bet i can beat you here too , i picked up a brand new 18 foot extender pole for  £20 last week , as i was leaving the shop i saw a damaged pole in the skip , the shop owner let me have it free , i then took it home and cut out the bits that were not driven over and made a 2 x 4 foot extender aswell !

2 brand new poles for £20 , beat that

Affraid not mate , if it was then i would have bought all their stock there and then , i would have made a killing by putting a tenner on each and banging them in the for sale section !

It did have a split in the largest collar so it wasnt clamping up as tight as it should have , i slid a feeler guage between the 2 sections , filled the split super glue and g clamped it up over night , worked a treat .

Right then , the orange poles are extender poles , the green poles are universal poles ....

The orange poles are loosened by lifting the flap arrowed .
Dont know how well your poles get treated but the orange ones are a lot lighter than the green ones , but they dont last as long either !

I have heard about a year is the expected life of them .

you learn something new everyday!

do the orange poles last less than the green? our poles do get bashed about, i have had 3 sections break this year on various poles. do you know how much the green 3 section poles weigh? we bought 2 yellow ionic poles a long while ago. i think there around 100-120 each now, both of them are v light and both are still in one peice, i'm not sure how much they weigh but their light

If your lot have a habit of breaking universals , then maybe the extenders are not your best way to go , they have thinner tubing .

The place i use is Varitech their number is 01752 263333 , you could try them for a price on the 18 foot universals , they also do a new range of poles , grey in colour , same design as what you have but lighter .

Tell them Panes and Frames told you and they will know what your on about .
