What do you think of your local window cleaners?
«

I think the window cleaners local to me are a good bunch of lads; even Squeaky
.
I get on with them all; just about; however I do sometimes hear one window cleaner complaining about another. I tend to keep this to myself, but the politics (gossip) does entertain me.
Have any of you lot have any problems with your local WC rivalry?

We pretty much all get along, apart from one husband and wife team who don't speak or wave to anyone.
Alot of us are going for a window cleaners outing next Friday for a days golf - should be fun!

Hey
Most are good we can have a chat say hello etc.
6 have become very good friends .
There are a couple real grumpy ones who completley blank me.
One tried stealing my work by telling some of my customers i was not cleaning any more.
He has not been seen in ages.
If i see a new window cleaner i always like to say hello introduce myself etc.
It is better if we can all get on.

The only one in my area won't even aknowledge me. Strange really as we used to work together a few years ago. I always give him a cheerie wave when ever I see him but he just blanks me. I find it quite amusing. Maybe he is sulking over the work he has lost. I did nothing to steal work from him but some of his customers have seen the light and now they are on my books. I even charge them a bit more than he used to but he is a glass only cleaner and I do frames and sills.

I meet every month down the local pub with half a dozen local window cleaners, we swap name's of bad payers, anyone we dumped for other reasons and put the names and address's into our own books
we black list bad payers and the generally bad customer, this has worked for us for years, every month there is always new names to add, we always add address's incase a bad customer sells up and someone else moves into the property.
If you get on with your local wc's, get together and have a monthly meeting, you will be suprised on the information you can gain from the other guy's.

There's around 10 or so round here most of them good guys to talk to with the exception of a couple who aren't off but just don't say much , I find this a relief cause still consider myself as the new guy even though there's 2 that work together that have started on the last couple of months. There all trad except for 1 other pole user like me so I'm a bit of a novelty to them, something to smile at possibly

The only thing I enjoy more than splashing people with roadside puddles, is screaming 'cowboy' at all other window cleaners - from the safety of my van of course.

I always shout 'missed a bit' or 'your mum's a man'.
Most of the local window cleaners I know seem to do a good job.
Apart from one who has this mysterious dark blue 4 wheel drive. I've heard tons of complaints about him but have never actually seen him.
There are also a few meeting places at set times for local window cleaners. All are in cafes. One is on a Thursday and we all turn up between 12 and 2pm. The owner calls it 'squeak time'.

It's in Newhaven.
Sorry but I thought it was a bit far off your patch - so to speak.
So... how about a drink sometime?
Yeah?

Where i work we get on, better that way.
It seems the new one's have the attitude, had one the other day, every time i saw him would smile or nod, nothing,
, then he had a problem & came over, i reminded him of his attitude & told him to get lost.
Always best to get on in my oppinion, you never know.
