Beware of Talk Talk
« on: September 27, 2006, 04:36:39 pm »
I did get cheaper bills with Talk Talk after I left BT. But..................and a big BUT !!!!!!!!!!!   Their customer service is appalling and chaotic. And if you're going to move house ( like I am at the moment) then you will have problems. I could write pages about their incompitence but lets just say I lost my Call Divert facility for 3 weeks when I was assured it would be available instantly.

If you do use them, make sure you cancel your BT call plan, I thought it could happen automatically whe it changed over and ended up paying two lots of phone bills until I noticed 3 months later!

Thanks for the Tip.

Was about to join!!!

Do you pay to divert your calls ? or would that be included in the plan if you take option 3?

Thanks

Was just flipping thru as I don't get on here often enough, and noticed this thread.  My Mrs has recently moved us from BT to Toucan.  Our average BT bill was about £30 per month, of which £12-£15 was dial-up internet.

Toucan charge £9 pm line rental, £10 pm for the privelige of ANY 01 NUMBERS FREE OF CHARGE 24/7  and £14 for 1 mb broadband.  total - £34 pm.

As I work from home and do courtesy calls etc, as well as my own cold-calling, this is invaluable and means I can throw caution to the winds and make calls all day!  We have to pay for calls to mobile numbers and 087 numbers, but that's it!

As we used a referral form thingy from the wifes' friend, both she and us got £25 calling credit each towards mobs, etc.  Oh yeah - the broadband actually comes through at 2.2 Mb ;D ;D ;D

By the way, Steve Gunn, since I got the Broadband, your gifs' knockers have stopped bouncing  :-[  Is this you, or my internet settings???

Just noticed this post.

Was it domestic or business line with Talk Talk as i have just signed up to a business package. (just waiting on the paperwork).
Unlimited Broadband, Line rental, Free calls to any number that starts 01 or 02 between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Also Free calls to anyother Talk Talk customer.
£30 per month - it's a better deal than what i am on now.

Just noticed this post too.

They might offer really good savings but when you need to get hold of them its like they have fallen off the face of the planet,

As we say to our Customers,

You Pay for What you Get,

Pay more get more is what we preach but why dont we want to do it when we are buying things.

Very Strange, BT every time

Moved my broadband from BT to talktalk, date was set and 4 weeks before change was going to take place, BTbroadband cut me off. Took me hours to find problem as spent most of time fault finding, when I did get through to the right BT guy he simply said 'well you were leaving anyway'. BT don't give a @~@~, unless you pay them money.
Moan over,
