Will shortly be moving house. Only about 10 miles away but the area has different telephone prefix to where I'm living at present.

Two things...is it possible to keep my existing phone number, even though I'm in a different area ?

Secondly, best ideas on how to gain new customers in my new home area. (leaflet drop springs to mind).

If you've experienced this, I'd appreciate your views.

Yes you can keep the same number. I think you just piggy back it to wherever you want it to ring. Same as an 800 number I think. I dont do leaflets or ever would but I am sure there are a lot of people who do will give you better advice on if it works or not, best, Dave.

Try to keep your old number, plus get a new  one for the new area if it is that sensitive to locality.

I had the same thing but it was going to cost a fortune something like £135 a quarter just to transfer calls.

So I decided to place a message on my old number and set up a new number with a piggy backed freephone number, therefore making it future proof.

The cost of the message was £10.00 a month.  I am looking at stopping that now.  I did a leaflet drop and put an advert in the local parish magazine when I moved a drummed upa bit of business that way.  Also my kids go to the local school which also helped.
