I use unger they have lasted me for years and are still going strong. Then I use my double extension for my shops,

I also bought a double ettore and found this warmer (sounds daft) in the winter than the unger poles and a lot more stronger, I bought that about four years ago from B&Q

I bought an ettore from B&Q recently, cost £24.00 i think for a double, they also stock a trebble, I noticed they had a whole selection of ettore products, could be bad news if evryone starts cleaning there own windows, with quality products so readily available i'm sure some will think it worthwhile.

Saw one in the ironmongers next door to me, to a householder they look good, the poles are steel.  I didnt think of using it over conservatories but will have a close look for you  tomorrow.
I used to do the glass from the side up a ladder with Unger alu and horizontal pull strokes with standard washer then squeegee.

Which Unger pole system is this, I am presuming it is the Tele Pole system?  How do you find it for WFP and I also presume you use the poles with the hose leading on the outside? Do they have the strength and are they bendy?

Any help here would be appreciated cus I need lightweight and not too expensive

They are the tele poles, but are used for  the Traditional method, I use them on some accounts at there full extent including two bungalows I have there built into ahill sides so there front windows are very high.

all the sections I find quite rigid until you put in the double section, then it became a bit whippy, I since found that the little collers inside had broken, once I replaced them they again became rigid.
When I change over to wfp I will be useing them as back-up and will have the pipe on the outside.

If I were still purely trad, I'd leave these windows alone.

I reckon most of us would leave a bigger mess behind after trying to do the windows above a conservatory roof with a pole, than what they were like before.

I think you'd have to be a 6th Dan squeegy user to be to clean this type of window effectively with a pole and a squeegie.

If you're still determined to have a go, I'd recommend a swivel-loc squeegie along with what-ever pole you buy.

Before wfp I used to clean windows above conservs with an extension pole, and they used to come up quite well, but they take abit of time. I never done them monthly more like every other or longer and price accordingly on top of that clean.

This is how... I simply used an angle adapter or cranked adaptor (whatever it is) in the up right position. ie the pole reaching out with the adapter sticking up at the end like a finger making a rude gesture (not right up vertical tho near enough) This gives you the correct angle to squegee with down storkes and using standard pole techniques missing the top when using the dolly, starting from the left, tapping the blade etc if theres anything left after you can wrap a dry scrim on the cone, although I hardly ever did.

I completly disagree with this, Maybe if your new to the trade ,but then again how will you get any experience, I have been doing them for years and my windows are left clean.

When I first started doing them, I used to tell my customers They might not be as clean as the rest of them and there maybe marks left, but it was better than leaving them completly filthy. Customers were always happy just to get all the c**p off. and by the way I'm only a firsts Dan.

You're a better trad window cleaner than I was/am.

I would leave this type of window no matter how dirty they were, but in doing this I was the rule; you're the exception; along with Pro Pole.

No customer ever told me when I was trad, that their last window cleaner could clean the window above their conservatories; they all accepted that it 'couldn't' be done.

Now I have a WFP capability, I clean them all; even the one where I have to use all five sections (honest) of my Unger pole.  There's no way it could be done traditional; not without scaffolding.

Anyway, now I've a WFP, I don't have to learn 'old skills' I guess.

Using an extension pole on small to medium sized windows, either upstairs ones or just the ones above a conservatory is difficult, Jeff may well be the exception that probes the rule, but few of us will do the job to any acceptable standard.

However.....

A few months ago a link was put on the forum that showed an american pole....I think, but I'm not sure, that it was called a propole......or perhaps it was procurve?
There was a video link of it in use on high, difficult buildings.

The pole was like a standard extension pole but was curved at the business end.

The squeegee on the end could swivel, I was really impressed when I saw it in use...with a 6' pole this guy could do the 'Turbo' Terry 360 degree rotation thing, and didn't even need to bend down when using it to squeegee off glass that went all the way to the floor.

Can anyone remember seeing this pole in action?

Gazza if you do go WFP consider a back pack version.

Extension poles, yes i use one and the customers like the idea i try .

One customer said to me " at least you try and clean them and don't just take the easy windows".

By trying with pole i have had some good responce from customers.

Always quote when using the pole that it will not be as good as by hand.

I also brought one of these for my pole to do the detailing

Quickly grips sponges, rags, chamois and mop heads simply by tightening the locking collar. Combined with an Unger telescopic pole, the Fixi becomes a high rise window cleaning tool to solve many cleaning problems without climbing dangerous ladders.

dave that looks good, i cant afford wfp yet, i will just work my arse off until i can afford it, just miss so many houses.

one thing i dont understand is how many professionals on here say avoid those type of windows they cant reach, and/ or say  would make more mess than cleaning it.....

i just want to know how you all did it before wfp came along,

surely you all cant have missed all the streets and avenues that i miss because of porches and sloping roofs,
