accepting credit & Debit cards
« on: September 15, 2006, 06:42:25 pm »
Does anyone out there accept credit and debit cards, the bank have contacted me with a view to accepting them using a manual terminal. The costs seem reasonable, around £50.00 per month for the terminal and processing charges.

My plan is to pass the additional cost onto the customer i.e 25p to 30p per debit card and 2% on credit cards.

I would be interested in your experiances and opinions.

Thank You

John.

I used to be part of a franchise which required me to offer credit card facilities. It cost money each month for the terminal and a yearly charge in merchant fees, and I took two credit card payments in three years.

I offered customers the opportunity to pay with a view to upselling but found that they were just as happy to pay by cheque.

Of 5 other guys I used to be in contact, none of them found that there was much call either.

Hi,

I was recently thinking about this but then i have been thinking about using Paypal. Have any of you guys used it or checked out the cost comparisons? Apparently this form of payment is very popular in the states! We normally catch on sooner or later.
