I asked at Commercial vehicle direct, I can take out a policy for £114 for a year that protects the contents of my van up to £2000.00. The van doors are allowed to be open while you are unwinding your hose out. But when you start cleaning the doors have to be locked.
Their are no limits to how many claims you make in a year, The excess is £100 on each claim up to a max of £2000.00. At the end of the day that should be enough for most, If a light fingered Freddie wants to snatch your poles while your setting up, I dont think you will have more then 2k worth of poles. If your van is broken into when its parked up at home your covered. I know nobody will want to pinch my tank, its too big.
If I have an accident in the van and wreck my tank and tank frame the 2k should be enough to buy a new one. The poles would survive I think, If not 2k is better then nothing, plus the premium is Tax decutable.
Any ladders or poles on the roof rack are not covered, Its only whats inside the van. If you leave your pole on somebodys garden and its pinched or damaged its not covered.
