Rotovac Question
« on: April 20, 2004, 02:44:14 am »
A Rotovac user has told me that it will not perform on cheap needle punch carpet or very low profile carpet tiles. Is this a fair observation and if it is what is the reason for it?.

The rotovac requires a underlying cushion to perform properly. In the case of glued down or even perimeter secured low profile carpets any uneveness in the floor will cause it to skip and judder and miss those areas as the twin revolving discs are rigid and have no suspension system.

I'll second Daves reply, you also have to clean the edges with the traditional wand.
I get better looking each day!!

Len,
You do the edges separately anyway, dont you? You cant use it on low profile carpets, but it saves the hard work on really grotty carpets like -Pub/Restaurants etc. I was just getting used to mine when this Yorkshire Asian chappy from Sheffield relieved me of it for a couple of bob (I fell for his sob story of - wife, kids and his not knowing where to take them, to keep them entertained)
I said " there you are S---n, take this, now go and earn lots of pennies for your kids - he didnt like it! Gave it away to another Yorkshire highway man, (Yes, you know the one!) who loves it, but I want it back, I miss it.

Dave

I did try this machine once unfortunately it blew the electrics and spent 20min finding the fuse box my team loved it they had the longest fAg brake they ever had or will!! Started again sparks came from one of the motors so I stopped and the RX20 came out, on it’s return the engineers replaced one on the motors and the same problem occurred, I’m not saying this is a bad machine but I had an hiccup with it, if any cc in my location has one of theses machines and has a job soon can I come and evaluate it.

Don’t worry Dave I also stand the three cards trick it’s not necessary Yorkies the Jocks/Welsh’s and don’t forget the southerners come into it, but they are good friends.
