It's not always appropriate to compare the prices charged in one country with another. The whole social structure, taxation system, average earnings, size of property, cost of land etc. etc. etc. all vary enormously. A good example are the villas for sale in Florida. You can buy a nice large, by UK standards, fully furnished home for less than half the price of a poky little 2 up 2 down terraced in London. The monetary differential can then continue through the rest of the economy.
As for the poll, I was one of the "Over £180 brigade" and I have completed the next stage too.
