Have I done anything like shortened the life span of my resin.
The other funny thing is my water in, ppm reading has all of a sudden dropped from around 210 to 135, wondered if that has happened to anybody else.
The 2 things can't be connected can they?

All you will have done is prolonged the life of your membrane, nothing else. The input TDS must be coincidental.

Alistair,
The Merlin does not really have a flush facility, the best you can do it to remove the drain elbow from the manifold, this removes some of the restriction and will give a bit of a flush. You can also buy a flushing kit, this flushes the membrane during periods of shut down e.g. overnight, but the will only work if your Merlin is connected to the water supply & you have a shut off on the pure outlet, either a float valve or a ball valve.
