Don't know what the money's like but I know its not just a case of washing out bins,
I think there are all sorts of rules regarding the waste that comes out of the bins, some of the guy's on here will put you in the right direction.

I would be very surprised if there was. And who wants to clean out bins all day long?

you can charge about £2.50 per bin, if they are the small ones for houses. Ive heard it is great money, but only if you have A LOT of customers, each next door to the next.

I get notices of tenders and this was one of them
The Council invites tenders for the cleaning of approximately 1445 communal street bins throughout the City, which predominately are all within 2 miles radius of the city centre
You have to subscribe for details. I think its about £99 per year

Offensive odours, germs & tough environmental regulations, I would stick to window cleaning

No'one has mentioned the fact of timing.
As far as I can see it all has to be timed perfectly with the bin men as the bins need to be empty to be cleaned. And they dont stay empty for long.

Theres lots of money in it , over £250 per day. Look at Freshbins I think its
www.freshbinsuk.co.uk
Or Google wheelie+bin+cleaning.
They will set you up with everything.
George Reid is the industry guru and he knows everything
It is easily possible to do 20 bins an hour and at £2.50 a bin you can work the sums out for yourself. In London they charge £4 a bin
You have to canvass up a round that follows the route of the dustcart but its easy money.
You collect the money by standing order

I think that there is very good money to be made cleaning bins, but the start up costs are high. As you have to be able to recycle the water you use and collect and dispose of it correctly. I thought seriously about doing this, but I don't think the work is very pleasant, smelly bins and maggots! maybe I will stick to cleaning windows

i know someone who started off on his own bin cleaning, was charging £2 per bin and scrubbed them with a broom. hes now got 3 vans on the go, takes £3.50 per bin and easily does 10 an hour on his own. so 3 vans = 30 bins which totals £105 per hour

You really need to check with your local council, regarding street trading licences, waste water managment, chemicals, public H&S, its endless although i know a couple of firms that build the machines for the back of a vehicle
