Hi all, I have been quoted for insurance £167 per year per person for cleaning domestic and commercial units . Would anyone say this is a fair price ? I haven't a clue as i'm just starting out , personally I thought per person it was a bit steep . Any advice please!!!

Normal, I am afraid Kim, insurance over the last few years has rocketed, many people believe that a few risk assessments etc are all the need to comply with the law.

Employment & Health & Safety law is a minefield, and it is very easy to find yourself being sued, hence the high prices, especially since the "NO win, No Fee" wallahs have bee around, regards
A world of difference....

I'm going to have to disagree with Robert here - to a point.

Kim, a lot depends on how many staff you have and what that insurance covers. I would imagine you will have both EL & PL and any other addtional insurance?

If you have 3 members of staff then the figure isn't so bad. When you reach the point of needing more staff then that figure (for individuals) will be so expensive. Really. Get some quotes and do the math, you'll see what I mean. You will benefit from one single insurance figure - if you're finding some too expensive as an upfront payment some insurance companies do offer instalment facilities.

I hope the above is of some additional help.  :)
