  More scratched glass on a builders clean. Used lots of water and small personna (american line) blades but outside of glass still scratched to f.............
If you're on a job with Pilkington K type glass, do NOT use any metal scrapers. The surface of the glass is full of fused debris (from the manufacturing process) which comes off when you scrape and catches on the blade. Doh....... Bad work that man, bad work.

use a diluted brick acid will come off without scratching or use peelable paint before they get caked in cement

peelable paint ... you roller it onto the glass and frames for the building firm then peel it of once they have finished.It still lets in enough light for contractors to work in before you peel it off.Saves money on builders cleans and also on replacing glass

There's also a film that many builders apply that does the same thing, but the film leaves a residue on the glass that makes the glass hydro-phobic, not so great for the wfp-ers. Does the peelable paint cause the same effect?

No the peelabe paint will not leave a residue.
In fact, on most occassions it will not require cleaning after it has been removed.
