What are everyones views on uniforms, how many wear uniforms with your own logo etc on, im just a new one man band but looking to the future and trying to plan, van , uniform and logo etc. i always try to give a professional impression, think a standard uniform might help?

Go for it I'am going to, I dont think it can do any harm, only make us more profesional, It will help us get away from the publics perception of window cleaners, most people dont hold us in very high esteem, wfp and corporate clothing is changing the view of the general public.

Whats the average cost, Example polo shirt and sweatshirt with logo on, and have you all designed your own logos? or is it just company name and contact details. Any where i can contact for prices etc?

we got our polo shirtsfor £10 each incl embroidery, light fleece's are £30 each and windproof/waterproof fleeces are £40 each incl embroidery.  Well worth the money as you become more noticeable (well we do - all our kit is red), trousers are windproof waterproof and breatheable £35each

A local store but they are very good - they ship anywhere in Europe too, don't now the website address though, loads of suppliers on the net.  Should have mentioned all our kit is regatta X-ert, brilliant stuff

They are pretty cheap and the clothing is really good quality and usually gets delivered in 2 days.
She emails you a proof before she does them incase you want any changes.

If there is anything you want but cant find ask her as she does not list everything.
We get regatta dover jackets done that are fleece lined and waterproof but there not on her site and there only £27 including embroidery and delivery.

All my guy's wear company logo uniform.

There is endless debates regarding if or if not it makes any difference. I for one think it does give a better representation of your company.

Whatever your views at the end of the day wearing a uniform certainly won't do you any harm!!

We wear red polo shirts with our business name and phone number on the back.

I think we look smart, but other window cleaners make fun of us; poor us.

But we're imediately recognisable to our customers, including the old-doddery ones (so good customer branding), and I'm sure some of our 'posher' customers like it.

We've also been stopped in Tescos a couple of times and have been asked for quotes.

We get our polo shirts at £7.50 each and our colour system is the same as 'Wilkinsons' (the shop).

We went for 'high impact' rather than 'subtle customer branding', if you know what I mean.

as regards uniforms Trevor is right, wearing it won't do any harm, we've spent around £400 in the last year on uniforms, its important to change them regular so they are fresh (old tatty uniforms are a no no).  The uniforms help us pick up at least £1000 a year of extra work so I'd def recommend it.

same here, way to go
my local print shop don't mind me supplying my own garments for printing, they charge me £2.50 for a small front logo and £6.50 for a full size back on whatever I give them, got a couple of polo's and a hoody, customers like it, escpecially the old ones: they always know who I am then ( if their eyesite aint so good).
Definately picks you out from the beer money boys anyhow.

I have read info re polo tops,fleeces,boiler suits etc but what sort of pants do you go for re. uniforms? I wear a pair of combats cos they are comfy and all the pockets are handy.Am getting round to sorting out some t shirts,want Window Cleaner and me phone number as big as possible on me back plus a nice polo shirt and a fleece with company name on the breast for canvasssing purposes,just feel it will help me get more work and look legit.

we use regatta x-ert windproof waterproof and breatheable, super duper comfy, hard wearing and very light, keep you warm when its cold and coolwhen its warm, perfect.  About £30 a pair.

I want some of the trousers my local council sweepers and bin men wear, the ones with reflective stripes on bottom of legs, hard wearing , breathable and waterproof, a local workwear shop says they'll look into ordering them if I can find who makes them.

They have kindly sent me samples for employees to try on and they are doing a special offer at the moment 3 polo shirts,1x jumper, 1x fleece, trousers, 1x work boots for £75.00 + vat.
All the clothing is embroided as well.

I see Wickes are selling a very good range of kit in trousers and tops. I think they are Dickies but cant be sure
