STOOD WATCHING ME - ARMS FOLDED
« on: August 18, 2006, 07:46:25 pm »
Hi all.
just got back in , had a call an hour ago  from a potential new customer, she said i can clean her windows, if i am any good lol,... i said of course and i will drop what i am doing and come and do them right now!.. she was shocked by my reply.... when i arrived i had never seen windows and frames so dirty in my life!, pigeon poo, spiders, webs,, chewing gum on the frames,... it was a semi... i said it will be a tenner first clean (good for my area)... she agreed.... i got my scrapers out and got to work, it took me 45 mins, did everything, .. when i had finished it looked like she had new frames and glass..... but, she had stood and watched my every move with her arms folded, so i chatted to her about everything, whilst i was sweating my arse off lol... to distract her from her sussing me as a newbie.... she said she has never seen a window cleaner put as much care and effort in, and gave me 15 quid a cup of tea and £6 per fortnight call.... am buzzing tonight lads  :D... just thought i would share that info, as her indoors would not understand .lol.

gary.

Fair play to you Gazza.

That's what it's all about mate. Attention to detail and keeping the customers happy.

Keep up with the good work and you'll have a full round in no time at all. Word of mouth recommendations via housewifes chatting over garden fences will keep you very busy indeed.  ;)

Regards,
Lance

WELL DONE THAT MAN  :)

It's little stories of success like this that make an old hand like me sit up and take notice. What? Go out and do it straight away?  not me or any of my guys.

BUT wait a minute!!  Look at the result you got Gazza.  You wont forget this one in a long time and this is yet another kick up the backside for the likes of me.

I am genuinely pleased for you Gazza. I,ve read your posts about how hard you have been working to get your business up and running. Keep that attitude up and you will do just fine  :)

Well done.

Just watch, she will be out telling her neighbours what a good job you have done and you'll probably have the whole street by Christmas.

"Do it right, first time every time!" and you'll not go far wrong.

However if you had done a c**p job she would have told her neighbours AND the rest of the neighbourhood and you wouldn't have got another look in there again!

Gazzasp8 thats the way to do it big fella - got a call this morning to price a reasonably large detached house (in a posh area not far from here), took a look round the house, £15, HHHUUUUGGGGEEEE conservatory, £35, she nearly broke my arm shaking my hand when I told here, she had thought about £80 for the lot.

Then I mentioned the conservatory roof - £200!!  She nearly fainted, thought I would have asked £300 or more.

So a very nice £250 every other month.

She got my number from another customer who I charge £5 for and was so impressed she rang me straight away.

The moral of the story is this - do a premium job for EVERY customer and the word will get round, remember - SNOWBALL.

when they can afford to have a conservatory like that made its no wonder - plus the range rover vogue and maserati in the driveway, nice folks though.  Sorry, its every other month for the house and conservatory then every 6 months for the conservatory roof.  I'll post a few pics on monday so you can see what its like, I think someone asked the other day for pics on pvc cleans I'll post them too.
