massive market being missed
« on: August 15, 2006, 03:54:47 pm »
I know we have the NCCA, however , I have recently invested in my brothers business, limousine hire, there are several broker companies, who obtain leads, via  very proactive pushing of websites to the top of search engines, then for £99 a month pass on leads to limo companies around the country, automatically by postcode and county, eg ; there are 8 companies paying www.limoshop.co.uk to recieve leadsin south yorkshire, We signed up yesterday and have booked 4 jobs solely from that site. surely the same can be done for cc, ,,,,,, possibly linked to one of these forums??????????? also  a lot of the leads are from people new to hiring limos, does cc industry need to gain markets from the 75% who NEVER use proffessional cleaners?????????.

What happens is the potential customer fills out an online form, outlining thier requirments, this form then goes to all limo hire companies in the area who can phone or email the customer  and sell thier services, be it on price, quality , service or whatever. The limo industry is very similar to cc, in that there is a vast variation in quality ,price and service offered, from  £50 an hour rusty wrecks(£10 a room guys) to £400 an hour hummer bling palaces( mick halliday).corporate work and private etc etc.

Come on , some one must have the web skills to kick this off, and unlock the massive untapped market

Why mention my name! I don't charge that much, I wish i did :D

I can never understand why anyone searches the Internet for a company when you can just lool in the local YPs,  perhaps if you are looking for some thing very specialised but not a common thing like carpet cleaning.

but it might work

No the difference here  is , the tradesperson has the customers details , and the customer has the tradesperson come to them, with price, service etc.  yell.com  etc relys on the customer ringing round several companies.

I know you have a SOH MICK AND WONT GET OFFENDED, Plus your van is bigger than a hummer.
People at work , in front of screens , often find it easier to look on web for a service, and some how feel cleverer.

A similar thing works for locksmiths, gas fitters, builders and many other trades, someone can make a killing here

I agree that it *could* work, most certainly.

However, there would  need to be some minimum standards of quality in place.

A customer could log on and be given the details of someone like Mike, and be very happy with the service they receive. Someone else could log on and get the details of a "splash 'n' dash" operator and end up highly unhappy.

The NCCA require that members have undergone training and hold sufficient insurance before they get listed. Any alternative carpet cleaning directory would need to ensure that members met a minimum standard.
