Hi

I'm cleaning the trad way and been going 1 month and have a question about the black marks sometimes that i leave on the frames.
When i scrim the glass/frame edges, the black rubber part of the frame glass edge is leaving a black mark on the scrim then if im not paying attention if i wipe the frame it leaves a black skid mark which doesnt come off the frame, well it probably would with a ton of arm aching scrubbing.
What can i do, obviously if i take more care when scrimming it will solve it but is this normal???

Wot you've got there is perished rubber seals me ol' fruit.

Cif/Jif is good to remove it but to stop it in the first place just very lightly scrim around.

I use what i call a neck rag for detailing, this is a peice of old scrim that i rip of a scrim about 3 inches wide and keep round my neck, and dont use it for anything else, when they get black of the rubber seals i just throw them away and rip a new peice off.

I use a monsoon zebra sleve then squeegy and detail/edges with scrim
For leaded wet cloth/spray bottle then scrim whole pane

I have had a couple of jobs where the rubbers where so bad I didnt even finish the front tops before walking, you do get some that you can get away with if you dont detail them and you dont have your applicator to wet, they are few and far between on my round though.
