Best way to remove old sign writing from van?

As above. The lettering comes off easily enough but the glue is a nightmare :'(

Use a heat gun-it comes off easy!

Same as easyclean says a heat gun or the mrs hairdryer, works a treat.

I got the iron on it with a damp cloth in between. Softened it up a bit but the glue wouldn't rub off any easier.

use rubbing compound does brilliant and will come up like new ;D

did ours last year and we used a tar spot remover which you can get from most good auto supplies. You still need some elbow grease but if you dab it on and  leave for a couple of minutes the sticky stuff will wipe off. we also tried a heat gun but found that the glue just got more sticky. Unfortunatly it is a long and boring job.

Peel off what you can, then use tar and glue remover on a cloth.

Polish the area off after.
Job done.
