Hot Water again
« on: November 19, 2025, 02:24:45 pm »
Great morning on the glass today with the hot water system. Steam even coming off the brush, I think its a must up here if you can forget about the extra cost. 😉

Minus 2 degrees when I started on the glass this morning. I could feel the ones parked up deicing their windscreens wondering how my water was pumping away without any problems

Always makes me laugh when the hot users pop up this time of year telling anyone who will listen how amazing hot water is  ;D

I managed just fine with cold, started at 8, it was 5 degrees by 10am and 10 degrees in the afternoon.  8)

My immersion defrosted rooflights and conservatories sides quite happily. Hoses nice and supple too.

Less than £100. Run without a hitch for over 6 years.
It's a game of three halves!

The only time we really struggle with cold water is on conservatories that have no internal heating inside when it's a couple degrees below as that freezes almost instantly, other than that it's pretty straight forward.

I am DI only, I also have a hot tap outside. So during the winter months I fill up with hot water. which stays toasty until i finish.
I use the the gardiners blue pencil jets , so 200 ltres  enables me to do 250 to 300 pound .

I reckon I would of packed in window cleaning by now if I had to use cold water. Its a miserable working day from Oct-April using cold water IMO

Cleaning one of my big houses the other day. It was 1 degree and the front is south facing so it went well. The owner has went all green energy with triple glazing through out. Went round the back and all the large panels of glass were frozen because its north facing. Made me think that this glazing must hold in the heat. Just missed the back and catch it next time. The glass has sucker marks on it and I can't seem to remove them, used Iso but to no avail. 🤔

You’re being soft mate. It’s now 27th November and 14 degrees at midday. We very rarely get day time temperatures in the minus these days.

And it was only a couple years ago that your hot system broke and you admitted it was overrated anyway  ;D

So if I’ve read this correctly you have a hot system that you bang on about how game changing it is and a necessity in the cold weather yet when faced with a frozen window you decided to leave it and it can’t remove suction marks?
Is this  a parody account? You couldn’t make it up.

Daz, if you lead a truly blessed life you’d not be on here trying to convince others they’re amateurs.

It’s just your ego talking.

Obviously I was joking(but some window cleaners are just sensitive with chips on both shoulders)😄👍
