I vacuum mine out with a wet n dry vac every few years and replace with fresh. I also have to top it up occasionally(no more than just over a half full tank)
price higher/work harder!

I'm interested in what the question means. Is coolant required for hot water systems? Why? What does it cool?

Yes change it every couple of years the same as you would on the car or van , we use a 50/50 mix using the red long life antifreeze

Mate, it’s magic as far as I’m concerned and I don’t know either.

Webasto heaters can’t heat water, they heat coolant.

Coolant reservoir,
Heat from the diesel burner,
Coolant is pumped through a heat exchange plate,
Water is pumped through the other side of the heat exchange plate and the coolant heats the water.

The coolant is 50% water so it does heat water😂😂
